With a background in nonfiction production and a passion for creative storytelling, I bring a warm, thoughtful approach to every project, whether it’s a brand video, documentary-style piece, or something totally outside the box.
These days, a lot of that work is with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations, turning donor stories and program impact into films that feel honest, not like a pitch. If that's you, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
Y8 Productions was born in Bloomington, Indiana, where I earned my master’s degree and lived in an apartment labeled “Y8” (paired with my last name, Yates, it just felt right).
From corporate clients to one-on-one collaborations, my goal is to create cinematic content that feels genuine, intentional, and a little bit magical.
